This storied brick historical landmark began its life in 1878 as the Caspar Lumber company store. Today, the wonderfully intact 19th-century facade is an iconic visual marker for those traveling Highway 1. The Caspar Studio was reincarnated in the 1990s as a recording venue for a legendary record producer and later, reimagined as an artist's live/work space. These windows capture beautiful views out over the specimen-rich gardens which feature over 700 Australian and South African trees and plants (many of them rare). The property is surrounded on 3 sides by 35 acres of state parkland which makes up the Caspar Headlands Natural State Reserve.
